Come join Fishtank Ensemble's accordionist Aaron Seeman (also known as Duckmandu) and your fellow adventurers as we learn about the accordion and Klezmer music, the Jewish music of Eastern Europe. This music is closely related to Balkan/Gypsy music. At the end of this class we will learn and play a Klezmer song together. (Last accordion class we had about 15 accordions all playing at once!) Absolute beginners to more advanced students are welcome.

4:00 - 4:30 Beginning Accordion
Come at 4:00 if you a beginner (even if you've never touched one!) on the accordion. We will be covering the basics of the buttonboard (bass or left side), and learn a simple chord progression.
4:30 - 5:00 Basic Music Theory, learn what makes a major scale and what chords arise from it.
5:00 Klezmer Scales, how they differ from major/minor, and the harmonies (chords) that these scales generate.
6:00 The class will learn and play a Klezmer tune together!
